How it works Rather than drawing heat from air, these units draw it from a water source — a lake, river, well, cooling tower loop or process water stream. Since water temperature is far more stable than air temperature, capacity and efficiency stay constant year-round. Critically, the machine produces hot and chilled water simultaneously: heat extracted from the source side becomes useful cooling, while heat rejected on the use side becomes useful hot water. Where a facility needs both, effective combined COP can approach 5 or higher. Construction and features Copeland scroll compressors, highly efficient shell-and-tube heat exchangers on both source and use sides, environment-friendly refrigerant, automatic controls and a touch-screen multi-functional controller. With no air fans, the units are compact and quiet — an advantage in plant rooms and basements. Specifications SE-WW-55V through SE-WW-190V, covering 55 to 190 KW rated heating output. COP 4.75 to 5.0, rated hot water output 1,182 to 4,085 LPH at 55°C, maximum 60°C standard and 80°C optional, minimum outlet 7°C for chilled water duty. Three-phase 380–415 V, R410A/R134a refrigerant, use-side flow 9.4 to 32.7 m³/hr, source-side flow 7.3 to 25.5 m³/hr, weights 320 to 880 kg. Applications Hotels, resorts, hospitals, boarding schools and villas, plus industrial plants with paired heating and cooling loads. Arnaa Polymer in Thane installed a water-to-water unit that delivers 58 KW heating and 40 KW cooling from a 20 KW input — a combined COP of around 5 — saving an estimated ₹14 lakh per annum.
